Draw for duet and team technical routines

(Beijing, April 15) The lots-drawing for the duet and team technical routines of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Olympic Games Synchronized Swimming Qualification Tournament was held at the National Aquatics Center (NAC), nicknamed the "Water Cube", on April 15. As a result, the duo from the Czech Republic will be the first synchronized swimmers to compete in the "Water Cube".

The Synchronized Swimming Olympic Qualification features two Olympic events - the duet and the team, with each consisting of technical routine and free routine, and the final rankings will be decided by an aggregate score. The duet technical routine and the team technical routine will be held on April 16 and 17 respectively while the duet free routine and the team free routine will be contested on April 19-20.

According to the draw, among the 32 pairs of swimmers in the duet, those from the Czech Republic, Malaysia, Uzbekistan and Japan will compete first, followed by their counterparts from the Netherlands, Austria, Italy and France. China's Jiang Wenwen/Jiang Tingting will be the 31st to take the pool.

Olympic Games and World Championships double winner Japan will lead the team technical routine on April 17, followed by Spain, Greece, Canada, Italy and Ukraine.
